Program dates: 14 – 30 July 2013
An International Educational Program for young promising leaders of 15-18 years old, from more than 10 European countries, the U.S. and more, based on informal education. During the 16 days’ program the youngsters will be exposed through lectures, simulation games and interactive learning on subjects not usually taught elsewhere.
It encompasses a series of activities destined to promote personal development, challenge perspectives, and enhance leadership qualities. Furthermore, the program gives the teenagers the opportunity to join the International Network of Alumni. It equips the youngsters with the tools enabling them to become the leaders of tomorrow.
“Leaders For Our Future” can provide unparalleled foundations to take them ahead in today’s global setting and equip them with skills, which can be more than useful in many other contexts in their future.
Leadership, conflict management, microeconomics, trade, and the environment, media techniques, International Organizations and the role of civil society, are the subjects that are used as tools to spark off the inherent possibilities of youth. The working language is English, as this is an international program.
The cultural program includes on-site visits around the beautiful city of Chania and Heraklion, at the archaeological site of Knossos with its famous palace of Minos. Emphasis is also put on the intercultural dialogue, through the historical heritage of represented countries and country presentations.
The participants are awarded with a Certificate at the Graduation ceremony to attest the acquired knowledge and skills.
The program has been successfully implemented since 2004 under the trademark "Kernels of our Future".
L.F.O.F. is hosted at the campus of the Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Chania, Greece.
